I have 1,278 Facebook friends, six children (if you count my soon-to-be step-children), three siblings, two parents and one fiancé. Fortunately, some of those 1,290 individuals do not expect a Hanukkah gift. However, there are certainly friends and family members who will be waiting to see what creative package I can deliver this year.
When I need inspired and artistic ideas, I turn to Judaica.com. The new and upbeat website is full of practical and artistic gifts – many for under $50. Whether it’s bright, foil-wrapped candies, a rainbow of dreidels, a festive book or a fun menorah – for under $50, you can wrap up a gift … worth unwrapping.
Here are five on my top 5 picks for under $50:
For Him: Solid and Simple
Marble blue and white beaded dreidel by Tamara Baskin
This is a decorative, yet masculine piece that is sure to keep him spinning your praises. Platinum color Hebrew letters are fused in to the dreidel at 1,250 degrees. Each dreidel is handmade and unique.
For Her: Floral and Fancy
Flowers fitted salt & pepper shakers
This spectacular set will add a colorful touch to any dining room or kitchen table. Each hand-painted piece is vivid yet harmonious, lush and bright yet beautiful.
For Children: A Fun and Festive Time
Noah’s ark tzedakah box
Add some meaning to the Hanukkah holiday with a tzedakah box that will enable your child both to give and receive. This hand-painted charity box is ceramic and full of playful animals!
For Colleagues: Hand-crafted Goodies at Great Prices
Birds laser-cut hamsa
A colorful, aluminum, laser cut hamsa, with a multi-colored motif of birds roosting in a pomegranate tree. This piece will instantly invite good luck to any home or office.
Grab Bag Goodies! Surprise!
“8 nights, 8 lights” Hanukkah glass tray and server set
Hip and modern and already presented in a gift box, this glass serving tray and matching server are fun and practical.
Hanukkah, of course, is not about the presents. But giving reasonably priced, valuable and meaningful gifts can add joy and spirit to the Festival of Lights. I hope you find something you like, too.
